Google Summer of Code

OLAT plans to participate at Google Summer of Code again in 2009. Please check back in February or March 2009 for the latest news about GSoC. We have to get acceppted as a mentoring organization by Google before being able to publish project proposals that you can apply for. Nevertheless here some ideas for 2009:

  • Support for IMS Learning Tools Interoperability and/or IMS Common Cartridgestandard in OLAT
  • Support for Open Knowledge Initiative standard in OLAT
  • Integrating a eCollaboration Tool into OLAT (Dimdim, Wimba, Adobe Connect, Marratech, Elluminate...)
  • Better reporting features for tests including Excel diagrams or BIRT reports
  • Integrate Clipboard into OLAT (has been started in GSoC 2008)
  • Include drag and drop into OLAT calendar
GSoC 2008 is history!

GSoC 2008 is over and all projects were successfully finished!. Thanks to all the students for participating and hopefully see you again in 2009. If Google decides to run the Summer of Code program in 2009, we will try to participate again as a mentoring organization.

OLAT was participating in Google's Summer of Code program 2008 and has received funding for a total of 8 projects (check the overview page). Six of the projects were related to OLAT and two projects were related to termeLML. If you are a student and would also like to participate in the GSoC project, please check back in February or March 2009.

GSoC 2008 Closing Event: Video and Photos

All the students successfully finished their projects and presented their work at the University of Zurich's "GSoC Closing Event". After two hours of presentations and discussions - one as a conference call from Germany and two students via video from India - the student and mentors celebrated with barbecue and beer until late at the Irchel campus. The presentations are available online as video streams:

You can also download the iPod version if you want to watch the presentations on your mobile devices. Below you will find some photos of the social event following the presentations:
