3.1. WebDAV access

WebDAV (Web-based Distributed Authoring and Versioning) is a set of HTTP extension aimed at supporting the management (incl. creation, deletion etc.) of files on the web. It is used within OLAT for access to personal, course and shared folders and is activated out of the box.

Log in to your OLAT instance, open the personal folder under Home and see the online help for WebDAV beside the WebDAV for your OLAT instance.

Security advice

In a production environment it is recommended to use WebDAV in connection with HTTPS only, otherwise the user name and password are sent clear text. Moreover you should be aware that most firewall products impose constraints on WebDAV methods and that this may impede the functionality at your site.
